Help Wanted

Friends of Messasonskee (FOM) is a grassroots, volunteer based organization. We rely on volunteers to report conditions around their section of the lake, to help with mailings, or to run the FOM booth at events!
If you are interested in being on our volunteer list, email friendsofmessalonskee@gmail.com or call (207) 618 - 8723 with your contact information and what you are interested in helping with.

Volunteer Opportunities

Plant Survey and Hand-pulling Volunteers Needed- Because we are not able to constantly monitor every part of our of our 30-mile shoreline, we encourage people to send us reports of suspicious plants, erosion areas, and other ecological activity. Please sign up to be our "eyes on the water!"

Courtesy Boat Inspectors - Current funding allows us limited coverage on the boat launches, so volunteers can help fill those voids! Training is available by 7 Lakes Alliance who operates our CBI program. See Employment section or click here for paid CBI positions.

If you are interested in being on our volunteer list, email or call with your contact information and what you are interested in helping with.

Friends of Messasonskee (FOM) offers training opportunities for Plant Survey and hand-pulling volunteers with our partner, RSU 18 Adult and Community Education. See class descriptions click here.

You can sign up through Adult Ed. or email us at friendsofmessalonskee@gmail.com
